090228 - Fight Gone Wrong

img_6828-resizedUGGGHHHHH, man this kicked my a$$ today.  Energy was not an issue, it was purely my inability to breath and consume adequate oxygen to power myself, kinda sounds like energy….  I started off strong actually paced myself to predetermined levels in order to aim for 300, I had quit early on the Wall Ball SDHP and Push Press during the first round.  My row went good but for some reason I started to hit a wall, that 1 minute rest did not allow me to get control of my breathing.   There was an option to sign up as a team, this would be three individuals each doing a single round.  I seriously think if I did this as part of a team I could have gotten close to 150 that first round….

The day didn’t fair so well for Ann either, after she smoked through the first round getting 113 and keeping close pace on the first 3 exercises of round 2 right before push presses pukie paid her a visit and she was down for the count…  We both look back and use the excuse of recent lack of sleep after our youngest got her tonsils out, but as stated “excuse”.

Lou and I doing some box jumps

Good news was we saw my guy Lou H. there.  Lou and I went to high school together, we didn’t just go to the same school nor were we best friends but we were always cool with each other and hung out on occasion.  So once graduation came and went in ‘94 we never kept in touch.  Funny thing is last year in the spring I was looking for some data on the stairs at a toboggan run by us, swallow cliff, where Ann and I were going to do a workout.  When I googled it I came across this site, Trinity Training Group.  The name of the guy who ran the site sounded familiar so I dropped him an email.  Low and behold it was Lou from back at Providence.  Lou, Ann and I have been having email conversations since.  Today was the first time Lou and I have actually seen each other since graduation in ‘94.  Lou is looking good and it showed in the 284 performance he cranked out today.

Food for the day, not the best but not horrible…

Seriously, we are almost there!  There is no reason to stop now, even if you miss a day and there are alot to make up.  Here is a post from the CF A-Blog:

Want to have some fun today? Set your watch alarm to go off every 60 minutes. When that alarm sounds, no matter where you are, drop and do 10 burpees. Really. Office supply store, nursing home, shopping mall, airport: wherever you are, just do ‘em. (And for those of you who are behind on the 100 Day Burpee Challenge, this is an easy way to catch a bunch!)
