Burpee Challenge: Milestone 80

3,240 (64%) Down…

Seriously, we are almost there!  There is no reason to stop now, even if you miss a day and there are alot to make up.  Here is a post from the CF A-Blog:

Want to have some fun today? Set your watch alarm to go off every 60 minutes. When that alarm sounds, no matter where you are, drop and do 10 burpees. Really. Office supply store, nursing home, shopping mall, airport: wherever you are, just do ‘em. (And for those of you who are behind on the 100 Day Burpee Challenge, this is an easy way to catch a bunch!)

I personally had some serious issue come up this last round.  On day 75, I had terrible pain in my left elbow when I was close to finished.  I had to pause at the bottom and slowly raise up to bear the pain and almost in an effort to not hurt it more with any sudden change of direction.  Day 76, I did 10 and decided to take the rest of the day off.  So, for day 77, this left me with 143 to make even.  Take a look at the schedule I ended up with, I did this just to keep track!  The elbow was also a sad moment for me, I really wanted to do the cleans/sit-up WOD, but passed on that too.  I even contemplated doing the similar thruster/double-under WOD [wmv] again to try and break 10 minutes, but decided it was not in the best interest of my elbow.

My injury aside, I am almost glad my husband decided to drop out early on (because of his shoulder.)  We learned on day 77 that he did in fact fracture a bone in his foot and will be in a cast for at least 2 weeks, followed by the soft cast with the boot for several more weeks.  That would have been a tough one to take this late in the game.

Lou and I are beginning to think it’s up to us to kick this challenge in the butt!  [Side note on Lou, he has a very nice blog himself with what appears to be a great following of people.  My husband found Lou's site by chance one day, only to find out that they actually went to high school together... kind of weird.  Anyhow, Lou, we will meet and do a workout, someday, maybe before there is snow on the ground!  Ahhh yes, winter in Chicago!]

So once again, let me know if you are still in this challenge.  We are all a very encouraging group, so do not be afraid to admit dropping out, or just send me a personal message.
